The above mentioned project was built on from one of our pioneer programs in 2016 that addressed clan conflicts in Marka between Bimaal and Habargidir clans., Lifeline supported local clan elders in order to resolve disputes between these two clans with the involvement of Lower Shabelle institutions. To ensure that justice of clan conflicts is guaranteed, elders agreed on terms in the presence of local governance. These two projects (4 and 5) have cemented our learning that strategic communication between the most involved groups create the best opportunity for peace and reconciliation.
